Originally called International Working Women’s Day is marked on March 8 every year. This day commemorates the murder of 129 women who were set on fire inside a textile factory in New York in 1908. They were standing for their labor rights. The owners of the factory rejected their petitions and locked them inside the factory which was then set on fire.
