Tagore at 151!

Rabindranath Tagore, the poet, playwright, musician, novelist and composer is getting 151 years old on 9th May, 2011. 25th of 'Boishaakh" [a month from bengali calendar] is the birthday of the Noble Prize winner Tagore, the composer of the National Anthem of India.
Rabindranath was a source of inspiration and motivation for the Indians during the British rule. In a quest for educating the Indians and making them aware of their independence, he founded the Vishwa Bharati University.
Shantiniketan in West Bengal happens to be Tagore's place for imparting knowledge. Tagore started writing poems from a tender age of eight. Rabindranath modernized Bengali literature by breaking the rigid classical forms of writing. His lyrics and literature seem to be a part of the modern world even today. It seems that Tagore has written his observations standing in the present century. His writings directly spoke about personal life and politics.  Tagore was perhaps the only litterateur who penned anthems of two countries - Jana Gana Mana, the Indian national anthem and Amar Shonar Bangla, the Bangladeshi national anthem.

Kolkata at present is getting ready to celebrate Tagore's 151st birthday. This is a snap showing preparations being made for 9th May near the Rabindra Sadan area for public performances of Tagore's songs and plays.

Love over a distance!

Do you believe in long distance relationships? The Wiki describes it as - " typically an intimate relationship that takes place when the partners are separated by a considerable distance."
But in reality, is this the only thing?
We strive to keep the fires of love burning. There are tons of people who do not believe in long distance relationships. They think this is impractical and cannot last. However this is untrue. It depends upon how much you love someone. Millions of people are deeply in love but they are forced to live separately due to circumstances. A lot of college goers concentrate more on writing love letters over the internet to their distant honeys. The army men also look back to their love and get the inspiration to fight and win so that they can return back to their love. The corporate executives climb the ladders of their careers while their beloved waits for a call, miles away.

This is how a long distance relationship work. Think you are not alone because you are never alone actually. There is someone who is always thinking about you. Holding back your love just for living together and ruining his / her career is not love. This is one-sided sacrifice and selfishness. If you really love someone, its good to let him / her go. If your love is true, distance won't matter. And if your partner seems to ruin his/ her career just to stay close to you, make him/ her understand. Keep your hope on only one thing - "trust". Then see what happens. If your partner misunderstands you, don't change your mind. If your relation is true, your partner is going to understand someday.
Long distance relationships last only if you believe in it, only if you have faith in yourself and your love.

Osama Bin Laden DEAD!!

Osama Bin Laden, the architect of the destruction of WTC (USA) has been finally taken out. U.S. forces killed the Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden in a firefight in Pakistan in the city of Abottabad.

According to news sources from Pentagon (US), this mission to kill Laden was planned in August 2010. The US intelligence was continuously monitoring the positions of Laden based on secret information. The small specialized mission army crew had gone through several rehearsals of the 'would be' battle field in Pakistan.

This is perhaps the secret behind the success that USA has achieved in the war against terror. No US man  has been killed. The operation has taken place under supervision of the American President Barrack Obama. After Bin Laden was shot on his
forehead, the medical tests  have approved  the dead body to be Osama's.

Bin Laden topped the list of the most-wanted fugitives in the world for the past 10 years, following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, in the U.S. Obama said Laden's death was justice to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack.
Ex-president of Pakistan Parvez Musharaf however leaves the world with doubts and controversies. He has clearly spoken to the media that if it would have been his reign, he would have never allowed US army to continue their operation to kill Laden. He would have made the Pakistan army to do the job. US army has operated secretly in Pakistan over the past 7 days and didn't let the Pakistan authorities to know about the undercover mission. The killing has been done in accordance with the public announcement made by George Bush [ex American President], on 12th Sep., 2001 that US army would have the authority to catch Bin Laden DEAD or ALIVE in any corner of the world.
